South Florida Radio Personality Gerard Latortue Appointed PM Of Haiti
Port Au Prince- Haitian President Jean Bertrand Aristide resigned Sunday, February 29 as Rebel Leader Guy Phillipe and Rebel Soldiers threatened publicly to March on the Capital and arrest him. Aristide was flown to Temporary Asylum in Bangui Central African Republic. Aristide claims that he was kidnapped and forced out of Haiti by United States Marines, a claim that has been denied by Secretary of State Colin Powell. Meanwhile, South Florida Radio Personality Gerard Latortue has been appointed Prime Minister of Haiti. Latortue fled Haiti during the Papa Doc Duvalier regime.
